Field Meridians is an artist collective committed to strengthening local food ecologies. Through site-specific programming, publishing, and radio broadcast, Field Meridians engages the Crown Heights community to lay the foundations for food sovereignty in the heart of Brooklyn.
Celebrate the start of the Spring planting season with us through paper pot making, seed starting and seed packet decorating. We’ll be hosting two workshops (schedule below) and launching a community-powered seed library hosted in partnership with the Brooklyn Public Library, Brower Park branch.
1PM - Fermenting Spring Greens with LinYee Yuan, Field Meridians
2PM - Native Pollinator Seed Bombs with Madeleine Young, MOLD
In case of inclement weather, we’ll be moving the workshops inside to the community room at the library.
Everything is connected. Join Field Meridians in an exercise to visualize the underground mycelial networks of Brower Park. Each participant will leave with a toolkit for mapping their own neighborhood tree families.
In an interactive lecture and park stroll, the group will draw from historical records of the park, oral histories from local neighbors, and the most recent scientific papers about mycelial communication to create a group artwork.
